for their outstanding performance. |

successfully completed their technical training. Chief of the Air
staff trophy for the best all round performance was awarded to AC
Naveed Anwar from school of Aeronautics. Noor khan trophy for the
best in academics was won by AC Intazar Ali from School of
Electronics and Asghar Khan trophy for the best in academics was won
by AC Javed Ahemd from school of Aeronautics. |

Waziristan on 19th May 2008. Detailed briefing was provided by GOC
14 Div, Major General Tariq Khan on the Army operations to clear the
area from miscreants. The media personnel also met some displaced
persons who are now residing in camps. The team was also taken to
Spinkai near Jandola where most of the action took place. |

on the ongoing development programmes of Pakistan Air Force (PAF)
and its preparedness to protect the country’s aerial frontiers, at
Air Headquarters on 17th May 2008. Deputy Chief of Air Staff
(Operation), Air Marshal, Rao Qamar Suleman gave a comprehensive
briefing to the Prime Minister, which was also attended by Defence
Minister Ahmad Mukhtar, Defence Secretary and other officials. The
Prime Minister also held a meeting with Air Chief Marshal Tanvir
Mehmood Ahmed and discussed matters of professional interest. |

Pakistan on 8th May 2008 conducted the second successful flight test
of the indigenously developed Air Launched Cruise Missile, Ra’ad (Hatf-VIII).
Ra’ad with a range of 350 kms, has been developed exclusively for
launch from aerial platforms. Ra’ad Cruise Missile has special
stealth capabilities as it is a Low Altitude, Terrain hugging
missile with high maneuverability, and can deliver all types of
warheads, with great accuracy. |

witnessed 10-day multi-dimensional operational exercise ‘Indus Viper

exercise. Air Forces of the two brotherly countries are conducting a
joint operational exercise to enhance interaction between the forces

Pakistan successfully conducted the first training launch of long
range ballistic missile Hatf VI, (Shaheen-II) on 21 April 2008. The
launch was conducted by Army Strategic Force Command and marked the
culmination of a field training exercise. According to ISPR, it
validated the operational readiness of a strategic missile group
equipped with Shaheen-II missile. Shaheen-II is Pakistan’s longest
range ballistic missile system with a range of 2000km. It is a two
stage solid fuel missile, which can carry both conventional and
nuclear warheads. |

(MPTP-33) was commissioned into Pakistan Navy on 11 April 2008. The
commissioning ceremony was held at PNS Dockyard where Chief of the

The craft is designed for fast attack, maritime interdiction
operation, contact probing and protection of coastal installations.
Its has high stealth characteristics and can carry surface to
