    EID on Sunday

As for EID, many of you may already know that ISNA and ICNA have announed EID for SUNDAY. And they give to following reason on their website.
    Salaam,

"The Islamic Fiqh Council and the national Islamic Shura Council of North America decided that based on indisputable astronomical information of a Solar Eclipse occurring on the afternoon of Friday, December 14, 2001, and the recommendation of ISNA astronomy consultants, the Hilal of Shawwal 1422 AH will NOT be visible on the evening of Friday, December 14, 2001 from anywhere in the world. The scientific details of the Solar Eclipse can be viewed from the NASA WebPages at: http://sunearth.gsfc.nasa.gov/eclips...2001Dec14A.gif

So this being the case... and knowing that Most if not all of the UMCC memebers followed these orginazations for the start of ramadan. It's safe to say that we will do the same for the EID, insha-Allah. Once again I wish you and your family EID MUBARAK. Please review the websites for ISNA (www.isna.net) and ICNA at (www.icna.org.) or you can checkout www.moonsighting.com for more detailed information.

Eid mubarak to all in advance...
    Wsalaam,

    Dr. Behjat H. Syed

Mubarak to all those in the US, unfortunately we in the UK are not so lucky.

We will undoubtedly have two eids. As usual the Raw sponsored ones (from India) will have theirs one day early as they have always done in the past, so that they get more Chanda (donations). Also most of our religious leaders are not learned scholars, or if they are learned then the trustees of the mosques treat the mosques as there own property and the Mullah has to tow the line.

The above also ensures that we in the UK continue to have disunity amongst the muslims and so cannot rise up as a power to oppose the hindu lobby.

Farooq is spot on. No doubt we will have at least 2 different days for Eid (I can remember 1 or 2 occasions of 3 seperate days being announced!!) in the UK. These copmmittess just don't care that they make a mockery of Muslims and argue with each other. Pathetic.
