RAW insider on truth about Bofors (http://news-blog.in/news-paper-magazine/raw-insider-on-truth-about-bofors/)

B Raman, a former intelligence officer who worked with RAW till the mid-90s has made some startling allegations in his new book The Kaoboys of R&AW, Down the memory lane.
Raman has questioned the integrity of some ‘’senior CBI officers” investigating the Bofors scandal.
The former officer claims he saw these officers lunching with the Hindujas who figured in the scandal soon after it broke in the 1980s.
According to the book, one intelligence input that was taken seriously was the one that saved the Western Air Command of the Indian Air Force from annihilation in just before war actually broke out in 1971.
Startling disclosure
In a startling disclosure Raman claims that RAW had a mole in Pakistan President General Yahya Khan’s office.
”A mole in the office of General Yahya Khan reported in the last week of November 1971, that PAF intended making a pre-emptive strike in the western sector,” said Raman.
The IAF was put on alert.
”Nothing happened on December 1 and 2 and the IAF HQ wanted to discontinue the alert but were persuaded to continue for another 24 hours before downgrading it on morning of December 4,” he said.
”On the evening of December 3 (the first day of the war) the PAF launched its pre-emptive strike which was total failure,” he added.
