ABU DHABI [MENL] -- Saudi Arabia is said to be in the advanced stage of negotiations for the purchase of Pakistan's new fighter-jet trainer.

Pakistani as well as Gulf defense sources said Islamabad and Riyad have been negotiating for the Saudi purchase of Super Mushshak training aircraft to the Saudi Royal Air Force. The sources said the two countries have been discussing for more than a year the prospect of Saudi procurement.

Details of the negotiations were sketchy. But the sources said Pakistan has offered to provide Saudi Arabia with training in and technology of the Super Mushshak. They said this could include the prospect of producing and assembling the jet in the kingdom.

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are regarded as close allies. The two countries conduct joint training and exercises as well as jointly produce weapons and ammunition.

These dummies don't even know that Super Mushshak is not a jet trainer. Why can't these news agencies make some effort to find out what they are writing about? However there have been other reports of Pakistani efforts to sell Super Mushshak to KSA.

I came cross this site on the Ideas 2000 website. (most of u may have already seen it). Anyway it provides a list of all the major Pakistani defence contractors and their roles.

I came across a Russian company Rostvertol PLC. They produce the heavy lift transport helicopter Mi26T Halo. Who happen to have established themselves in Pakistan.

Does anybody Know whether the PAK military is considering the Mi26T Halo to fulfill its heavylift helicopter role???

Furthermore, Kaman was also present their and on the site they mentioned that the 3,300 kg “Asnat” and 900 kg “Aktai” helicopters are under development. Does anybody have any info. on these projects????

Cheers in advance.
